IN MEMORIAM:  Rose J. Fraser, 81;

SUNY Retiree Raised Large Family

Rose Fraser

MOUNT VISION – Rose J. Fraser, 81, who lived for the past 63 years in Mount Vision, passed away at home with her family by her side.

Rose was born in Westbury Long Island, the daughter of John and Susan (Metzger) Marano. She married Winnard Fraser Jr. on Sept. 3, 1954, in Mineola.

Rose worked at both the former Homer Folks TB Hospital in Oneonta and SUNY Oneonta.

During her retirement Rose enjoyed doing puzzles, collecting dolls and baking but, above all, her large family was what she was most proud of.

She is survived by her children Kathy (Ed) Badershall, Win (Carol) Fraser, Susan (Michael) McSain, Charles (Dora) Fraser, Allan (Margaret) Fraser; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, sister Theresa Cartin, nephew Fred Brown and dear friend Irene Haney.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Win, sisters Evelyn, Nancy and Marty; brother John, and her beloved dog Babe.

Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Those who wish are asked to donate to the Catskill Area Hospice or the SPCA.
