COOPERSTOWN – A second woman has died from COVID-19 after she was exposed at the adult home where she was residing, according to Heidi Bond, Otsego County Public Health Director.

Her death comes just one week after the first death from the reported adult home outbreak, which started when an employee came to work after being exposed to the virus during a Thanksgiving gathering.

It is the the second death this week, the fourth this month and the twelfth overall since the start of the pandemic, making December the deadliest month since the start of the pandemic, Bond said.

16 new cases were reported today, with 15 hospitalizations. There are currently 122 active cases.
