Seward Lists Achievements;

St. George Introduces Self

In opening remarks in this evening’s state Senate debate that followed the sheriff’s race one, state Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, focused on the multiple grants obtained for projects in Oneonta, Cooperstown and beyond, and how Republicans in the state Legislature blocked $1 billion in new taxes in the Senate and $20 billion in the House. A relative newcomer in a district served by Seward since 1986, the Democratic challenger, Joyce St. George of the Margaretville area in southern Delaware County, spoke of her business experience and successful efforts to found a food bank. The debate is ongoing at this hour in The Fenimore Museum auditorium in Cooperstown.   Polls will be open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6.   (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
