SPRINGFIELD – A Sheriff's Deputy is in surgery following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 80 and Route 20 in Springfield at around 3 p.m. this afternoon.
"Deputy James Mateunas sustained multiple fractures to his legs and is in surgery," said Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. "His patrol vehicle was hit head-on."
