ONEONTA – Common Council will view a prize-winning documentary, “A Slice of Hope: Recovery Friendly Employment in Oneonta,” at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Common Council chambers.

The documentary was directed and produced by Jessica Vecchione in cooperation with LEAF, FOR-DO and the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, and documents how Sal’s Pizza on Main Street, Oneonta, is giving a chance to people recovering from substance abuse.

“This is a powerful film which shows how a local small business can have a real impact on the lives of people struggling with addiction,” said Mayor Gary Herzig.  “I am very proud of the entire team at Sal’s for their leadership in tackling the addiction epidemic that affects us all.”
