SMALL AIRPLANE CRASHES

NEAR WESTVILLE AIRPORT

A single-engine Piper crashed into a shed owned by Bill Light across Route 166 from the Cooperstown/Westville Airport about 8 p.m. Monday.   The plane belonged to Frank Toth, the contractor.  There was a second person and a dog in the craft as well, Light said.  The plane, traveling from the northeast north of the airport, came over the tree line, hit the lawn next to 166, lost a wheel, then skidded toward the shed.  A wing struck the shed, slowing down the aircraft.  Light said neither Toth or the others appeared to be injured.  (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
