SUNY's Red The Dragon Mascot To Get New Look

Red the Dragon is in for a facelift.

ONEONTA – SUNY Oneonta will unveil a new look for the college mascot during the 2015 Red Day celebration 11 a.m-3 p.m . Friday, Sept. 4, on the main campus quad.

Red the Dragon’s new look will debut at 11:50 a.m. Despite a strong showing in SUNY’s third annual Mascot Madness competition last spring – making it all the way to the final round against Baxter from Binghamton University – Red’s threads were getting worn out. Last year, alumni and students voted on several different designs for Red’s makeover, and the winning costume will be revealed on Red Day.

A celebration of the 125th anniversary of the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association will be held at 12:15 p.m. in the Morris Conference Center.
