ONEONTA – Timothy Hecox, 55, of Oneonta, an Air Force veteran who worked for 18 years at Broome Development Center,  passed away at home on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1964, in Oneonta, the son of Raymond and Cheryl (Lints) Hecox.

Tim graduated from Oneonta High School.  Following high school he joined the Air Force and honorably served his country for four years.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS – John B. Barown, 67, an Air Force veteran and former Milford postmaster, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at his home in the Village of Richfield Springs after a period of declining health.

John was born May 31, 1952, in Jersey City, N.J., the son of Bartholomew and Inge (Wappler) Barown, Sr.  When John was young, he and his family moved to Hartwick, where, for many years, they engaged in farming.

EDMESTON – Leon A. Schworm, 84, who operated the H.J. Schworm & Son store here for 49 years and the Colonel Edmeston Restaurant, passed away Friday March 1, 2019, in Cooperstown following a brief illness.

He served as town justice, and was active in many community organizations.

Leon was born in Edmeston, son of the late Harry J. and Stella Beatty Schworm. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Donald.

SCHENEVUS – Patricia A. Hunter, 79, a lifelong resident except for service in the Air Force, passed away Feb. 20, 2019, at Bassett Hospital.

She was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Oneonta, the daughter of Clifford and Eva (Gabriel) Currie.

Pat married Hartley Hunter on June 28, 1958, in Albany. He predeceased her in May 2008.

MARYLAND – Edward Vincent Lynch, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 2, 2019, with his family by his side.

Edward was a 1989 graduate of Franklin Central School, then entered the Air Force.

He met his wife, Michelle and her children, Jade and Cameron, while stationed in Arizona. Michelle and Edward were married on July 22, 1994.

ONEONTA – Glenn Charles Bidwell, 72, passed away Dec. 22, 2018, at the home of his daughter. Glenn had stopped laughing so we all knew it was time for him to go. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Glenn was born on Feb. 23, 1946, in Oneonta to Norbert and Dorothy (Mathewson) Bidwell. Voted class clown in elementary school, he continued to have a great time, graduating from Oneonta High School.

Always up for an adventure, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1965. He entertained many with stories from his time stationed in Thailand and Turkey.

RICHFIELD SPRINGS  Harold Leslie, Beecher, 75, of Sylvan Street, a machinist who retired in 1994 after a long career at Bendix, Utica, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 13, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born on Nov. 30, 1943 in Cooperstown, a son to the late Leslie and Marion Brownell Beecher. He was raised and educated in Richfield Springs, graduating from Richfield Springs High School, Class of 1961.
