COOPERSTOWN – Eight news cases of coronavirus have been reported locally this week, county Director of Public Health Heidi Board said this afternoon.
That raised the number of active cases in county from 10 to 13.
As of today, there were 105 total cases, up from 99 Monday. The new total includes the 13, plus 87 who have recovered, and the five deaths experienced since cases first appeared in mid-March.

Artist May-Britt Joyce holds up an original painting of swimmers at the village’s Fairy Spring Park that will be sold at silent auction during 80th anniversary of the park’s opening 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the East Lake Road facility. The artist began the painting from a kayak offshore from the park. The local fun band Hanzolo will perform, and Stewart’s will provide free ice-cream floats. Public welcome.

Joe Russo, who has been an anticipated sight for tourists and locals alike in downtown Cooperstown in recent summers, celebrated his 100th birthday with dozens of friends and family members this evening at Cooperstown’s Thanksgiving Home.
