COOPERSTOWN – The Friends of the Parks announce another year of ice skating at Badger Park has begun. The rink is open to all when conditions allow, which should be all this week, as temperatures are expected to stay below freezing.
Weather and conditions permitted, rink hours for “mixed use” are 3-7 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 3-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Weekends and holidays, family skating is 10 a.m.-noon; mixed us 12:30-6:30 p.m.
FUN IN THE SNOW! Final day of the 50th anniversary Cooperstown Winter Carnival features snowman building, soup’n’ chili, soccer slushing in Pioneer Park, the “Fatty Bumppo” bike race ghost tours, wine tasting, a chicken wing competition, the Fire & Ice Bar at The Otesaga, Annie & The Hedonists concert, and the carnival closer. COOPERSTOWN – At 10 a.m. Saturday, Badger Park will reopen its public ice skating rink. Staff is currently working to rebuild the ice after warm weather caused the rink to close on Jan. 30. The holiday schedule will be active for the week of Feb. 15 due to school vacation.
