State Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, lends a hand this morning at the United Way of Otsego & Delaware Counties’ monthly food distribution at Northern Eagle Beverage, 41 Browne St., Town of Oneonta.  Some 300 families participated in the food distribution, done in collaboration with the Regional Food Bank in the Capital District. “It’s another example of the wonderful work performed by caring individuals and organizations we have in our community,” said Seward.  “The high usage of this program also shows we need to do more to improve our local economy and ensure everyone can afford the basic necessities, including fresh food.”  (Jeff Bishop photo)

On ‘Lake George Beer Hub’

Everyone whoops as George Allen, president of Northern Eagle Beverage, Oneonta, cuts the ribbon on the Lake George Beer Hub Wednesday afternoon in the Town of Queensbury, near the namesake tourist community.  Behind Allen is Louis Hager, principal in Hager Hops, the largest-in-the-state 20-acre hopyard in Pierstown.  The Lake George Beer Hub building was formerly the Davidson Brothers brewery, which Northern Eagle bought in 2016.  The Hub’s current members are Davidson and Cooperstown Brewery, which is allied with Northern Eagle and Hager Hops.   Located to attract summer tourists from Lake George, and Hub offers brewery tours, tastings, serves by the pints and hosts events. There is a variety of bottled beer available for purchase, as well as a variety of apparel and gifts.  (Adirondack Regional Chambers of Commerce photo)

Oneonta Company In Expansion Mode

northern eagle beverage copyONEONTA – Northern Eagle Beverages announced a few minutes ago it will be purchasing Glens Falls Brewing Co. shortly.

Located in Queensbury, near Lake George, the brewery was founded in 2014 to help Davidson Brothers Brewing, Glens Falls, expand its brands throughout the Northeast.  Davidson Brothers is not part of the purchase.

Glens Falls Brewing joins Northern Eagle’s Cooperstown Brewing Co., Milford, purchased in April 2014.  As the Milford brewery was undergoing renovations, Cooperstown Brewing’s beers were brewed under contract with Glens Falls, since both used Peter Austin Brewing systems.
