IN MEMORIAM: Therese Moylan, 90,

Cherry Valley; Retired AT&T Operator

CHERRY VALLEY – Therese A. Moylan, 90, of Cherry Valley passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016.

She was born on Sept. 9, 1925, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Joseph & Theresa Schneider.  Her husband of 53 years, John R. Moylan, died in 1999.

After graduating from St. Nicholas High School, she went to work for AT&T as a long distance operator.

At the age of 90, she could still finish a New York Times crossword puzzle faster than anyone.  She loved her family and enjoyed family history and telling stores of growing up in Brooklyn.

She is survived by her son, John R. Moylan Jr. and his life partner, Carol Ronovech, and two grandchildren, Matthew Otis and Shan Hale Priest.  She was predeceased by two children, Karen and Thomas.

She was also survived by several nieces and nephews,  Edward (Theresa) Eck, Terry (Jerry) Spatafora, James (Holly) Kehoe, and Frank (Patty) Schneider, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

Therese was predeceased by siblings Adam (Mike), Marie, Dottie and Rosie as well as nieces and nephews Louise Ruggiero, Bobbie Kehoe and Joseph Schneider.

The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers in Therese’s memory to Catskill Area Hospice, 542 Main St, Oneonta, NY  13820.

Calling hours are 10 a.m.-noon Monday, July 18, at Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, followed by a 12:30 p.m. service at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
