2 Arrested With Heroin,

ONEONTA – A traffic stop by Oneonta Police yielded 37 bags of heroin, $200 worth of crushed Xanax and cash, and led to the arrests of two New York City men.

Raul Diaz; 22, and Ricky T. Peralta Morban, 25, were arrested after Sgt. Brandon Collison observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that had been reported by the state police as almost striking a road worker in another township.

After stopping the vehicle and speaking with Diaz and Peralta, police, including state troopers, K9 Trooper Ricky and his handler, Deputy Sheldon of the Otsego Sheriff’s department,  found 37 bags of heroin with a street value of $740, crushed Xanax medication with a street value of $200 and $2370 cash.

Both subjects were charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, class B Felon and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, class A misdemeanor.  If convicted, they face 26 years incarceration.
