Libby Cudmore Asks Fenimore Audience:

What Songs Do You

Remember – And Why?

Libby Cudmore was heading home from work on the OPT, passing by Goodyear Lake and listening to Syd Straws’ “CBGBs” when she was inspired to write “The Big Rewind,” her detective novel published in 2016 by William Morrow. The writer and AllOTSEGO.com managing editor’s revelation came this afternoon during her lecture, “Rock Music and Memory,” one of periodic talks The Fenimore Art Museum is organizing this summer in connection with “Herb Ritts: The Rock Portraits,” on loan from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The interplay between music and life can come early, she said: The first song she remembers hearing was her dad playing “Excitable Boy” on the record player, which led to her interest in mystery writing.  “When you raise the kids on Warren Zevon, what do you expect??  Here, Libby, who also writes music reviews for Paste and other national magazines, autographs “The Big Rewind” for Patrick and Jean Dewey, Cooperstown.
