Separately, DRI Grant Approvals Due In Early March

ONEONTA – Common Council will be asked to approve a $155,000 contract for planning a transit hub around the Downtown Parking Deck when it meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

Paid for with state money available through the DRI (Downtown Revitalization Initiative), the contract will be with Wendel, a consulting firm in Williamsville, the Buffalo suburb, for a Transit Hub Conceptual Planning Study.

In a separate development, the city’s DRI committee, chaired by former mayor Kim Muller, has announced has announced it has completed its review and selection of all DRI applications from the community.

In a memo, Muller said the recommendations will be reviewed by the state Housing Trust Fund Corp., which administers the state Downtown Improvement Fund, and Mayor Gary Herzig may be ready to announce the winning projects by early March.
