300+ Registered For Saturday’s Polar Bear Jump

 It’s here! The 2016 Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump begins at 12:30 Saturday (registration is 9-11:30 a.m.) on the east side of the Town of Milford lake. Jump co-organizer Jamie Waters (with wife Brenda) reports “pretty good ice” – 9-10 inches – on the plunge site. More than 300 jumpers are already registered, and he estimated the total my near 350. Waters and about 30 organizers were on the surface today, setting in place the hot tubs, two new changing rooms, trailers and other jump-related items. Saturday’s festivities will end with the annual banquet at 6 p.m. at the Oneonta Elks. Photos is from last year, showing Victor Erway of Fly Creek doing a somersault into the icy deep.
