IN MEMORIAM: Edward Ziobro Jr., 69;

Accountant At Amphenol For 35 Years

MOUNT UPTON – Edward Ziobro Jr., 69, of Mount Upton, an accountant at Amphenol for 35 years, passed away on Jan. 2, 2020, at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melody; and his three daughters who were his pride and joy and his greatest achievement, Heather Ziobro of Auburn, Heidi Ziobro and her husband, Sinan Erzurumlu of Needham, Massachusetts and Hayle Ziobro and her partner, Amber Benlian of Washington, D.C. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Evren and Esra Ziobro Erzurumlu and Olive and Maezie Ziobro.

Ed was born on Sept. 30, 1950, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and lived much of his life in Mount Upton. He was a graduate of Mount Upton Central School and received a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA from Syracuse University. He was employed at Amphenol in Sidney for 35 years.

Ed was predeceased by his mother Genevieve, who was raised in Lublin, Poland, and is survived by his father, Edward Ziobro Sr., who was raised in Strzyżów, Poland. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew Ziobro of New York City; his sister, Elizabeth Rutkowski and her husband, Charlie of Springfield, Va.; and his niece, Ursula Ziobro Matthews and her family.

Ed’s family expresses its thanks to the many true friends who offered their help and support in recent years.
Ed played hard, traveled far and enjoyed more true adventures than most of us will ever get to experience.
A Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St., Sidney, at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Upton. A celebration of Ed’s life will begin at noon at the Sidney Elks Lodge, 104 River St. Sidney. Please join us.
