University Police To Be Santa

For 40 Local Needy Children

ONEONTA – The University Police at SUNY Oneonta hope to start a new holiday tradition tomorrow, hosting the first annual “Cop Shop” to benefit children from underprivileged families within the Oneonta community:  Police will distribute donated gifts to approximately 40 children between the ages of 3-5.

“Our goal is to help make things a little easier for these families this holiday season,” said Officer Denise Natoli. “Each child will be given the opportunity to pick two gifts to be wrapped and taken home.”

Sgt. Jonathan Nichols and his wife Shelly organized Cop Shop. The generosity of ACCO in Sidney, Sal’s Pizzeria, Joe Ruffino’s Pizzeria, Price Chopper, American Mobile Dental, many individuals of the community, and the members of University Police made it possible.
