Cuomo Cabinet Member

To Explain Budget Locally

ONEONTA – The public is invited to a presentation, by a member of Governor Cuomo’s cabinet, on the 2016-17 state budget, Mayor Gary Herzig announced today.  The presentation will be 9 a.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Foothills Performing Arts Center.

“This budget will have a positive impact on the people of Oneonta,” said Herzig.  “Too many people in this area are unable to afford housing and food for their families despite working at full time jobs. The increased minimum wage will be good for local workers and good for our economy.

“I also thank Governor Cuomo and our state legislators for working together in directing much needed increases in funding to our local schools and our aging infrastructure”.

Herzig said the city has also been selected to receive funding that will bring together local government, non-profit, and community groups to design and implement solutions to address poverty.
