IN MEMORIAM:  Barbara Angellotti Enck;

Lover Of Animals, Including Many Cats

Barbara Angellotti Enck

ONEONTA – Barbara Angellotti Enck, loving sister, aunt, cousin, mother of one daughter and countless animals, has died. She was 69.

Barbara was as generous as she was cantankerous. She had an incredible eye for detail and an utterly contagious laugh.

Barbara loved watching movies, baking award-winning desserts, decorating for the holidays and befriending wildlife and neighborhood strays. Jokingly called Dr. Doolittle, she had an uncanny ability to attract every dog, cat, squirrel, skunk, bat, or bear in the area and keep them well-fed.

Born in Oneonta, to the late James and Dolly Marino Angellotti, Barbara attended St. Mary’s and Oneonta High School. She resided in the Oneonta area all her life, working early on at Wilber Bank and later at Hannaford until her retirement.

She is survived by daughter Jeni C. Enck, ex-husband Gary Enck; sisters, Celeste Keto and Christine Colburn; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and three fur babies, Goody, Hannah and Willie.

She is predeceased by sisters, Joan Mileski and Patricia Whitaker; as well as Ezra, Amos, Killer, Dexter, Butterball and Mrs. Kitty.

In lieu of services, and to honor Barbara and ensure the timely adoption of her three beloved cats, memorial donations may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA at sqspca.org/support/make-a-donation/ or mailed to 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
