IN MEMORIAM: Dorothy Ann Oliver, 73,

Cherry Valley; Leaves Many Survivors

CHERRY VALLEY – Dorothy Anna Oliver, 73, of Cherry Valley, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, in her beloved home after a long battle with cancer.

She was born April 29, 1943, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Elmer Merwin and Blanche Rivenburgh.

She was a hard worker and loved her family and anyone who entered her life.  She enjoyed family vacations, crocheting, gardening, cooking, canning and her grandchildren.

Dorothy married the late Raymond E Dygert, Sr., on Oct. 3, 1961. She then married Val F. Oliver on Aug. 26, 1989.

She is survived by her husband Val, her children Kathy A. Ostrander (Rick Labelle) of Fort Plain; Raymond E Dygert, Jr. (Glenda Dygert) of Cherry Valley; Kevin M Dygert (Mary Dygert) of Middlefield; Karen M O’Connor of Springfield Center, NY; Tanya A Graham (Timothy Baney) of Cherry Valley, Ark.; Michelle Gabriel (Kyle) of Delhi; Charles Oliver (Michelle Oliver) of Sangerfield; and Kristen Furgison (Charles) of Hubbardsville; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Emma and Mildred; 3 brothers, Russell, Richard, and Charles; and many nieces and nephews.  Dorothy is predeceased by a granddaughter,1 sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley, with Rev. Alan Miller officiating.

Calling hours will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Burial will follow in Springfield Center Cemetery.
