Downed Tree Shuts

Rt. 26 For 4 Hours

Cooperstown firefighter Chip Wright examines cleared trunks and trees branches that closed Route 26 through Toddsville for four hours this afternoon after today’s storm split a large tree. The trunk in the background is all that remains. Toddsville was still without power a few minutes ago, but the roadway had been cleared and a NYSEG crew was working to restore power. Also at this hour, it was report that southbound traffic was backed up on Route 28, south of Cooperstown Commons in Hartwick Seminary, but it wasn’t immediately clear what the problem is.
