Editor’s Note:  Hartwick College President Margaret L. Drugovich released this statement a few minutes ago on the Board of Trustees statement of support.

hartwick logo“I appreciate the unwavering support of the Hartwick Board of Trustees and many members of our community.  Higher education is evolving across the country, as it is at Hartwick.  We have worked hard to tackle difficult issues and we are making difficult decisions.  Of one thing I remain certain: our shared goal is to provide the best experience enhanced liberal arts education possible for our students. “

  1. I am pleased to see the Hartwick Board of Trustees support their President as she takes steps to meet the challenges that confront all Liberal Arts Colleges across the country. All institutions who want to survive challenging times, must reinvent themselves to meet changing conditions. Fortunately, she recognizes that staying stagnant with decisions made for another time only assures that the institution will not be sustainable. Oh that her faculty could only see the wisdom of her attempts to find the right changes to make and help!
