IN MEMORIAM: Elizabeth Berberick, 94,

Burlington Flats; Survivors Include 5 Sons

BURLINGTON FLATS – Elizabeth “Betty” Rose (Sullivan) Berberick, 94, who raised five sons here, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford.

She was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in West Winfield, a daughter of the late John L. and Ada Lena (Laraby) Sullivan.

On May 8, 1945, in West Winfield, she was united in marriage to William Donald Berberick, a blessed union of 63 years filled with much love and mutual devotion. Mr. Berberick died on Jan. 20, 2008.

She was a member of the Burlington Baptist Church. She, along with her husband, enjoyed spending their winters at their winter home in Umatilla, Fla.

She loved her family immensely and especially enjoyed their Sunday dinners. She loved buying and selling antiques and collecting coins. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning.

She is survived by her sons, William (Nancy) Berberick of Richfield Springs, Cary Berberick of Ilion, Kelvin (Vickie) Berberick of Burlington Flats, David Berberick and his companion, Wanita Bartletta of West Winfield and Dale (Cindy) Berberick of Burlington Flats. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She leaves her sisters, Katherine Foster, Joan (Grant) Seamon and Carol Dowd; brother, James (Gerry) Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Barrett and Carolyn Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta Saunders, Anna Mary Andercheck, and Helen Mahon; brothers, John L. Sullivan and Ronald Sullivan; daughter-in-law, Sharon Berberick, brothers-in-law, Morris Saunders, Donald Foster, Richard Dowd, and Frank Berberick; and sisters-in-law, Anita Barberio and Henrietta Piety.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the many nurses and staff at the Presbyterian Home, especially the Willow unit for the wonderful care that was given to Betty over the years.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at the Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc., 365 West Main St. in West Winfield.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, with Pastor Barry Davis officiating at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Burlington Flats Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in her memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
