Medieval Mischief Abounds

At Windfall Farm Festival

Drew Yorke, 2, of Milford (holding the hand of brother Jack, 9, for reassurance in top photo), shares her mystification about the Pirate Queen (Lindsey Quinn of Utica) with Hazel Mae Bosma, 2, of Cherry Valley. It was all in fun: Quinn’s troupe is a centerpiece of the annual Medieval Renaissance Fair at the Windfall Dutch Barn, Salt Springfield, 4.5 miles north of East Springfield, which continues today until 5 and Sunday, 11-5, featuring food, music, dance and a record number of booths. Lower left, Laurie Shipley of The Wood Dragon’s Garden, Laurens, offers samples of her natural soaps. (She is also a legal aide at Hinman, Howard & Kattell). Lower right, Donna and Dale Latella left brother Pete in charge of The Tepee on Route 20; instead of moccasins, this weekend they’re vending Medieval jewelry and fashions, (and they’re dancing at 5:30 p.m. today).  The fair is one of the major fundraisers for the Windfall barn, a venue for music and art.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
