IN MEMORIAM: Thelma J. James, 87;

Survived By Sister In Mount Vision

ONEONTA – Thelma J. James, 87,  a former resident of Los Angeles and New York City, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at AO Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.

She was born on January 25, 1929 in New York City, the daughter of Justus and Else (Ketels) Lorenzen. She married Luther James who predeceased her in 2006.


For many years, Thelma was employed as an Administrative Assistant for Mass Mutual in Los Angeles, CA.

She is survived by her sister, Elsie I. and Ronald Haus of Mt. Vision; her brother, Edward Lorenzen of New Jersey; 2 nieces, Karen and Oscar Moran of Woodside, Calif., and Justine and Hector O’Connor of Chicago, Ill.; and a nephew Erik and Deborah Haus of San Mateo, Calif..

In addition to her parents and husband, Luther, she was also predeceased by a sister, Irma O’Connor.

A memorial service will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
