ONEONTA – Ottillie K. Ferrara, 86, who retired from a 25-year career with NYSEG, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Fox Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Jakob A. Muehl and Katherine Schmall Muehl Ottillie grew up in Worcester, attended Mildred Elley, then joined NYSEG.

She liked travelling, movies, animals and country music. She played golf and enjoyed watching sports events, especially her “beloved Bo Sox”.  She walked daily in Wilber Park and other areas. She was a parishioner at St Mary’s Catholic Church.

Predeceased by husband, Joseph A. Ferrara; siblings: Martin Muehl, Mary Naples, Catherine Clark, Jakob G. Muehl, Michael Muehl, Anton Muehl and Rosalie Ryan.

Survived by sister, Elizabeth Michaud of Cortland, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be at 10:15 a.m. Friday, July 8, at St. Mary’s Church, with Rev. David Mickiewicz, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
