EXETER – Two teenagers were injured in an ATV crash in Exeter this afternoon, Robert O’Brien, director, Otsego County 911 has confirmed.
According to John Seamon, his granddaughter Brooke McCord, 16, was riding a large ATV with her boyfriend, Robbie Brykailo, 16 on Dan Seamon’s property near the intersections of County Routes 23 and 24 in Exeter. When they attempted to go over a four-foot jump, they crashed the ATV.
CHERRY VALLEY – A Cherry Valley woman is in serious but stable condition at Albany Medical Center today after crashing her ATV at 6 p.m. yesterday on Salt Springville Road on the north end of town.
Amber M. Girard, 46, of 282 Swamp Road, was driving the ATV as a “high rate of speed” when she lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over and ejected her near the intersection with County Route 32, according to state troopers at Richfield Springs, who responded.
LAURENS – A 9-year-old boy was airlifted to Albany Medical Center after an ATV crash last night near the Oneonta Municipal Airport.
State Police responded to a call at 8:58 p.m. that the boy had overturned an ATV on a trail on private property near the airport, which is in the Town of Laurens. He was not wearing a helmet, and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries.
NEW LISBON – Joshua M. Theisen, 24, Medford, Suffolk County, died Wednesday from injuries sustained Sunday in an ATV accident, county Sheriff’s Deputies report.
Investigation found that Theisen, who was visiting the area for the weekend, was traveling westbound on Jones Road approximately one half east of the North Welcome Road intersection on a 1998 Honda TRX300FW 4×4 ATV when he lost control of the vehicle and the ATV left the roadway going into a drainage ditch.
