ONEONTA – Darcie Marie Sheley, 27, of Oneonta, passed away Friday Dec. 25, 2020, unexpectedly.

She was visited prior to her death by close family at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where she gave her final breath.

She was born on March 25, 1993, daughter of Laurie and Royal Sheley Sr. in Kingston.

She was a longtime resident of Sidney, where she grew up and made many lifelong friendships.

She spent a lot of her time outdoors going swimming, hiking and exploring nature with her four beautiful daughters.

She also could be found enjoying singing, dancing, and listening to music. She also found success as a model, in which she took great pride.

She is survived by her four daughters, Isabella Wiswell, Miley Cutler, Myah Sheley and Morgana Sheley; her parents, Royal Sheley Sr. and Laurie Sheley of Sidney; brothers, George Sheley (Ashlyn Morrell) and Shawn Banks (Eva Banks) of Oneonta, and Royal Sheley Jr. of Kingston; sister, Anita Sheley of Kingston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Darcie was predeceased by her grandmother, Colleen Banks, and great-grandfather, William A. Banks Sr., who she cared deeply for.

Darcie volunteered to be an organ donor before her death.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at the American Legion at 22 Union St. Sidney.

Darcie will be cremated and kept close to home with her brother, George.
