Husband, 6 Children Among Survivors
ONEONTA – Estella Marie Snyder, 86, of Oneonta, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, in Fox Nursing Home.
She was born on May 11, 1932, to John and Rosella (Weaver) Shafer in Jefferson.
Estella preferred her middle name and was known throughout her life as Marie. She was a homemaker primarily but worked later in life at various businesses in Oneonta until retiring in 2003.
Estella married Robert R. Snyder on Dec. 7, 1951.
He survives her, as do their six children, Teresa (Charles) Fox of Aurora, Colo., Lynn Snyder of Oneonta, John (Pat) Snyder of Wells Bridge, Sandra (Neal) Merrihew of West Davenport, Michael (Joann) Snyder of Oneonta and David Snyder of Laurens, nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren survive her.
Her parents; brother, Stanley Shafer and sister, Marion Shafer Breault, preceded her in death.
