IN MEMORIAM: Brett Ann Whitney, 71;

Hartwick Graduate, Fox Hospital Nurse

Brett Ann Whitney

ONEONTA – Brett Ann Whitney, 71, of Oneonta, a nurse at Fox Hospital for many years, passed away early Monday morning, Oct. 21, 2019, following a short battle with cancer.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1948, in Manhattan, the daughter of Robert and Leila Odum.
Brett received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Hartwick College before joining Fox.

She had an impact on and was loved by many. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Leila Odum, 98, of Ashburn, Virginia; her sister, Joan (Gene) Ormandy of Hamilton, Virginia; her brother, R. Andrew (Linda) Odum of Swanton, Ohio; her children, Joshua N. Whitney of Portlandville and Jessica Whitney of Springfield, Missouri; her daughter-in-law, Serina Bishop of Portlandville; her grandchildren, Neveah Butler and Brantlee Whitney; a niece and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Whitney; and her father, Robert Odum.

Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family, in Otego Evergreen Cemetery.
