UNADILLA – State Police are seeking the identity of the person responsible for carving out the name on a gravestone in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery here.

One name and part of the date on the Goodrich tombstone appear to have been scratched out with a chisel or a power tool. A member of the family alerted police to the vandalism last week.

Anyone who has any information is encouraged to call the State Troopers Troop-C, (607) 561-7400 using Case #7073097
