108-98, in Triple Overtime

The first Final Four game stretched into triple overtime, but the Hawkeyes held on, setting a new record for highest score during a championship game, with Lambert alone scoring 53 points. Later this afternoon, Middle Early College, a Buffalo magnet school, defeated defending champ, Lake George, 80-63, and will face the Hawkeyes at noon tomorrow in the Broome County arena for the state title. Despite 55 points by sophomore standout Tyler Bertram, the CCS Hawkeyes bowed to Moravia, 80-74, in the state quarter-finals in Whiteboro this afternoon. The two teams were neck and neck for most of the game, with Moravia gaining a lead in the fourth quarter. At this hour, the CCS girls are in the fourth quarter, 47-36.
