Santa’s Cottage, removed from Cooperstown’s Pioneer Park on Saturday, sits a bit forlornly at the village DPW on Linden Avenue today, amidst discarded Christmas trees, (which residents may drop on the curb through the end of the month for municipal pickup). Fear not, the holiday season is only 11 months away, and Santa’s Cottage will be safely stored until then. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
With Santa and Mrs. Claus taking final Christmas wishes, the line was still long a few minutes ago with youngsters waiting to share their Christmas wishes with the couple at Santa’s Cottage in Cooperstown’s Pioneer Park. Top, Gunnar Lee, 6, and brother Cash, 3, of Fly Creek, pose with dad Justin on the sleigh in front of the cottage. At right, Margaret Wolfert, 3, and sister Gloria, 5, of Cooperstown, wait on line with Mom Kayla and Dad Matthew. At 4 p.m., the Clauses were scheduled to hurry back to their workshop at the North Pole to make sure their elves fulfill the wishes in time for tomorrow’s Christmas Day delivery.
