Heroin, Stolen Goods

ONEONTA – A 17 year old Oneonta man was arrested after Oneonta police allegedly found heroin and stolen goods in his apartment.

Kyle Jaramillo was arrested after members of the City of Oneonta Police Department Uniform Division and Detective Division, conducted a voluntary consent search of his room at 91.5 Center St. During the search, police allegedly found a small quantity of heroin, as well as two televisions, a set of stereo speakers, an air rifle and a pair of sneakers police claimed matched reports from a recent burglary of an apartment on Walling Avenue.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Jaramillo allegedly knew the owner, and that he had committed the burglary during the holiday recess and taken the items back to his apartment.

 

He was arrested and charged with the felonies Burglary in the Second Degree, a class C Felony, Grand Larceny in the fourth, a class E Felony, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property fourth degree, a class E Felony, as well as the misdemeanors of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, class A misdemeanor and Endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 26 incarceration.

His arrest closes one of the open burglaries in the City of Oneonta, but further investigation into the possession of stolen property continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oneonta Police Detectives at (607) 432-1111 option 4. All tips will remain confidential.
